Today everyone in my household is home from their respective work and school. The wind is blowing hard and it is thundering and lightening (sp?). Does everyone say about where they live, “Just wait around a while and the weather will change?” We definitely say that around here. It’s the truth too. It changes fast. Earlier in the week it was sunny and wonderful and now it’s rainy, windy and scary. Things change, they always do.
People, I don’t make this up! I promise…after writing this, this is the card I pulled:
Today’s card is bright to you by Keepers of the Light by Kyle Gray and art by Lily Moses. Just like always, the cards don’t disappoint. The card I pulled is Freya, “Phases and Cycles”. Freya is the Norse goddess of the moon and love. Kyle Gray’s booklet explains that Freya helps us understand that “our life is a cycle that is always changing.” “We all go through phases and cycles of growth”.
Change can be painful, but it is necessary. I think all change leads to grief, but grief is necessary. It’s the door to our beautiful soul and our memories. It’s the measurement to how much we loved something. I used to grieve when my kids sized up in their clothes. I grieved the little things and sayings and mispronunciations of that particular phase. Happiness can also be found in change. I am happy that my kids are getting older and having interesting conversations and insights about the world. Life is always changing and we discover ourselves from change.
